Interested in commissioning a pet portrait?
You can contact me by emailing

If you have an idea of what sort of composition and size you would
like,
let me know and I can give you a quote. Also please feel free
to email if you have any other queries about my work.
You will need to provide a photograph I can draw from. Here, I want to explain what kind of photo I’ll need - I know this section is a bit tedious, but please read it as it may save you a lot of complaining and dissatisfaction in the long run. I am calling upon my lovely dog Maddie to assist me here. She deserves a mention in return for all the photos I've made her pose for!
So when you are looking for photos to send me, please bear in mind that they need to be:

1. Detailed and in focus.
I draw very exactly from the detail of
the photo and the more there is, the less I will have to make up as I
go along, and the more the dog/cat/duck-billed platypus will look like
your pet! I prefer film photos, but I will draw from very good digital
ones. [Maddie may have an endearing expression on her face, but it's hard to tell...] |

2. A decent size.
A small dog in an expanse of lawn/beach/carpet, even if
it is in focus, is a real pain to draw from! [I think she's here somewhere] |

3. Ones you like.
My only complaint to date was from a woman whose
dog appeared to have strangely shaped feet that were too big.
This was because the photo
had been taken at a funny angle, and its feet were half-hidden by
grass. So the picture needs to be a good representation of the pet
as you
see them, because I only have that one image to go on, and I follow it
very closely. [Obviously I can't say what kind of photos anyone else likes, so here's one I like!] |
