I
have
recently finished a stint of 15 months drawing to raise money for the
charity Hearing
Dogs for Deaf People. In fact, I have
been raising money for them for over 10 years now, and had almost
raised £1000
in total by the time I finished my A-levels.
In the Spring 2004 issue of the official Hearing Dogs publication,
Favour, I
entered an article offering my services as a pet artist in the hopes of
raising
that golden number before I started my course at Sheffield
University. The number of commissions I received in
response was overwhelming, and it actually took the whole of my first
year at
uni, plus a summer either side, to finish the whole lot.
Thanks
to the readers of Favour, I did reach my target, and have to date
raised over £1200 pounds for the charity.
Here
is
a choice sample of the Hearing Dogs commissions. As I
consider
that I get better at drawing with the more experience I get, I think
these are some of my best pictures as they are the latest pet pictures
I have done. Click on the thumbnail images below to see the
full-sized picture.

As you see, I only draw in graphite pencil or occasionally (only when drawing frogs, apparently) in coloured pencils, because I happen to like being able to erase mistakes, and it is a medium I am comfortable with. If you like what you have seen and would like to commission a drawing, then please contact me.
